From Salento to New York City: Aramire Music of Southern Italy
Aramirè was founded in 1989 by Roberto Raheli to perform traditional music of Salento, a region of Southern Italy colonized by the ancient Greeks. The ensemble is renowned for its infectious renditions of pizzica tarantata, used in healing rituals.
